The Reason You’re in a Shitty Situation (from my own Shitty Situation)

I sit here questioning my decisions in life ready to dedicate myself to a 4 day fast in an attempt to find answers to the questions I have. Before even starting I am given a pearl of wisdom by God, the daemons, and the muse. It all starts with Arnold Schwarzenegger…

In a motivational video I watched it turns out in the beginning years he was working construction, THEN went to the gym for 5 hours a day. He had to drag his feet through a construction site every day to make something of himself. It was a necessary evil. And I would even go as far as to say it was NECESSARY for his success.

The construction job would have engrained in him a work ethic, functional strength, and an air of masculinity that no desk job ever could. He worked at a high-paying job, with benefits, a good union, and it HELPED him to become a bodybuilder. Here’s my question: Is your current job doing something similar for you?

Is your “job” or “work” putting you in a position or teaching you skills which may be necessary for the rest of your life? For example: how to take shit, how to interact with customers, how to organize a team, how to inject fun into peoples lives, or how to network with the higher ups. Is you job instilling a work ethic within you that will translate to you doing work when most others have given up? Will you job end up teaching you how to take critique and apply it immediately to improve yourself, become a dream of a mentee in the process? It may be giving you the skills, motivation, and know-how to propel you further into your dream career. It may be the foundation to create something amazing in the future.

God has a plan for all of us, and if you are like me and looking for a reason to not quit, here it is. Your actions now are setting you up for total universal alignment in the years to come. Just like Arnie.

Act to Thrive,

Jackson King.
